Prize money and winning share explored for the Sony Open 2023 in Hawaii

After Jon Rahm’s dramatic win at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, the PGA Tour is now ready for the Sony Open. Most of the golfers who attended the first upscale event of the year stayed behind for the event at Hawaii’s Waialae Country Club.

The 25th edition of the Sony Open will take place between January 12th and 15th. The event features a field of 144 players, eventually dropping to 65 with a tie after 36 holes.

With defending champion Hideki Matsuyama and PGA Tour superstar Jordan Spieth headlining the packed field, the event is expected to be among the top events of the year.

Players such as Tom Kim, Adam Scott, Billy Horschel and Sungjae Im among others will compete at the event.

The event’s runner-up will receive $861,100 and the third-place golfer $545,100 for their efforts. Meanwhile, the last-ranked golfer on the field wins $13,035.
