The Houston Astros have announced a multi-year partnership with rap icon 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) and his wine and spirits company Sire Spirits LLC.
The partnership also extends to his charity, the G-Unity Foundation. It will be the first official partnership between Sire Spirits and an MLB franchise.
“Let’s go Astros! I work, what do you guys do? – 50 cents
The deal makes 50 Cent’s alcohol brands – Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi – the Astro’s official cognac and champagne. Minute Maid Park’s Club Level Bar is renamed Sire Spirits Bar.
The deal also calls for Suite 1 at Astros Stadium to be renamed the Sire Spirits/50 Cent Suite in 2023. The suite is used year-round by 50 Cent but is made available to fans for select games.
“We share the same philosophy of conscious capitalism,” 50 Cent says of the Houston Astros partnership
This deal marks the fourth professional sports partnership for Sire Spirits from 50 Cent. It is also the first time a company has secured official partner status for cognac and champagne brands with all three MLB, NBA and NFL teams in Houston.
50 Cent said of the partnership:
“I’m particularly proud and excited about our first major league baseball deal with The Astros. We share the same philosophy of conscious capitalism. I look forward to offering at-risk teenagers the opportunity to experience the excitement of a baseball game in a luxurious suite at Minute Maid Park.”
Jeff Stewart, Astros vice president of corporate partnerships, expressed his delight at the brand new deal by saying:
“The Astros are proud to be working with Curtis and his team to offer Sire Spirits to our fans who visit Minute Maid Park. Both organizations share a common goal of giving back to our community, so it just made sense to partner with Curtis’ Spirit Company and charity to invest in the city of Houston. We are excited about this partnership and I look forward to visiting the rebranded Club Level Bar next season.”
50 Cent’s G-Unity Foundation will work closely with Astros on several charitable endeavors. The two parties intend to start a Leadership Series program with the goal of helping teenagers.
The G-Unity Foundation will also receive a percentage of the proceeds from two Astros Foundation Share 2 Care 50/50 sweepstakes.
