Rapper Slowthai appears in court for rape
Apper Slowthai appeared in court on Tuesday charged with raping a woman.
The Grammy-nominated rapper, 28, is accused of twice assaulting the woman in Oxford in September 2021.
Slowthai, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court via video link on Tuesday.
He only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
The rapper has been released on bail and is due to appear again at Oxford Crown Court on June 15.
His debut album Nothing Great About Britain was nominated for a Mercury award in 2019 and reached the top 10.
Tyron, his second album, reached #1 in the UK Singles Chart in 2021.
Slowthai is currently dating pop singer Anne-Marie, 32, who confirmed their romance in a social media post earlier this year.
