- Below is our full preview, stats and a prediction between Real Madrid and Liverpool
Reigning European champions Real Madrid have a comfortable 5-2 lead over Liverpool after their win in Merseyside a few weeks ago. Carlo Ancelotti’s team are once again among the favorites in Champions League odds futures and have just -4000 left to progress in the odds between Real Madrid and Liverpool this week.
The first leg was an almighty collapse of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in a replay of last season’s final. Liverpool are no strangers to historic Champions League comebacks, but at the Santiago Bernabeu it would take something remarkable to make Real nervous at all. Klopp’s side have won just six home games all season, losing away to Bournemouth at the weekend.
Barcelona is the only team to win at the Bernabeu in 2022-23. Los Blancos are set for a third consecutive season and reach the last eight of Europe’s main club competitions.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool preview
Real Madrid ended a three-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over Espanyol at the weekend. Barcelona have built up a sizable lead in La Liga and Los Blancos will see the Champions League as their best hope of making this a successful season. Ancelotti is a specialist in the competition, as shown in her spectacular run to the trophy in 2022.
Liverpool have nothing to lose here. The visitors need to be up front from the first whistle and hope they can score a few unanswered goals in the first half to make this interesting.

While the loss to Bournemouth served as a reminder of what a difficult season it was, the 7-0 loss to Manchester United remains fresh in the memory. Klopp is hoping for a similar performance from his side at the Bernabeu. Such a goal is entirely possible if Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are all at their best.
But once again, midfield is the problem for Liverpool. Despite all the kilometers in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos’ legs, they are still capable of controlling games at this level.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool Prediction
This should be a less chaotic game than the first leg. Real won’t want this to be that open and will be keen to absorb Liverpool’s pressure before launching counterattacks.
The visitors’ firepower gives them a good shot at scoring, considering Real have not kept clean sheets in their last three home games, but they will also be incredibly vulnerable if Real wins the ball. The fact that Liverpool cannot cope with this Real attack was already shown in the first leg and Vinicius Jr.’s duel against Trent Alexander-Arnold will again be fruitful for the hosts.
A stellar home record outside of their Clasico fixtures is enough for us to back Real to avoid a defeat in our Real Madrid vs Liverpool prediction, even if Liverpool finish on the scoresheet.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool picks: Real Madrid win or draw and both teams to score (+109)
