Reba Says She Never Let Her Son Win At Games: “He Wouldn’t Have Learned Anything That Way”

And so she made sure her son Shelby was raised the same way.

Reba had Shelby with her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock in 1990, and she kept close to her Oklahoma roots while raising him.

She also credited the nannies who looked after him when she was away and how she sometimes took him with her too:

“I had the best nannies and took him out on the streets. If I couldn’t, I would fly home after a concert, pick him up in the morning, take him to school and pick him up. We played until I had to fly to another concert that night. I wanted to be with Shelby. still do.”
