Redcar investors LJC Capital to acquire Orchid Kitchens and Bedrooms

Investment expert LJC Capital has added Orchid Kitchens and Bedrooms to its fast-growing business portfolio.

Founded by the Lane family, the Middlesbrough-based company has been designing and installing kitchens and bedrooms across the region for five decades. However, the company now has a vision to grow beyond the North East.

“This deal enables Orchid to grow nationally from a base in Teesside and this is fantastic news for the region and for everyone involved,” Orchid’s Ciaron Lane said.

“When the Orchid family founded the company in 1979, the aim was to provide exceptional service across Teesside. More than 40 years later it has become a trusted and established business across the region, but this deal allows us to thrive in other regions too.

“It’s an exciting merger that really has the potential to take Orchid to the next level.”

The merger for an undisclosed sum adds another leg to Redcar-based LJC Capital’s rapidly growing fleet of companies.

It was founded with the aim of building a group of companies with the common goal of delivering world-class products, services and investments.

And Sid McAuley, director of LJC Capital, said Orchid was a “perfect fit” for the investment firm.

“We looked at several companies and it became clear very quickly that Orchid was a perfect fit for us because of the passion within the company,” he said.
