The year was 2021.
Post Malone appeared on Matthew McConaughey‘s We are Texas virtual benefit concert (to raise money for victims of the brutal winter storm) and stole the show with country music.
Not just any country music, but You Can Have the Crown by Sturgill Simpson and a much underrated Brad Paisley song in I’m Gonna Miss Her.
Post has just received plaudits from Paisley, with Brad saying Post’s version is better than his own.
Always humiliating when another artist does your song better than you.”
“@postmalone, well done. Check out the link in bio to donate to @officiallymcconaughey. We are Texas fundraisers.”
He shared the clip on his Instagram.
How about Post Malone’s country album? I promise you it will be better than 90% of what you hear on the radio. The response to this incredibly talented jack of all trades has been amazing – people want him to make a country album, whether it’s covers or originals, and work with Koe Wetzel or Dwight Yoakam.
MAKE IT EASY.
Here’s the full coverage.
And the original.
Post Malone joins Dwight Yoakam for a Thousand Miles From Nowhere duet
Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam… the duet you didn’t know you needed.
In the summer of 2018, Post Malone swung past Dwight Yoakams SiriusXM Show, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beatand… your new favorite duo was born.
Seriously, these are just a few guys who are dudes. Not just any dudes, but these two seem to be two of the coolest dudes you could ever meet, so a bit of magic happened when they got the guitars out.
Malone and Yoakam sang Dwight’s classic “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere,” as Post has long said he’s a big fan of traditional country.
