Reporter torches KJP after Press Sec fails to answer questions

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is not having the best month, and making matters worse for the White House is the growing discontent in the media ranks, which has not been exactly a cause for concern so far.

President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal makes enough chums in the water and journalists smell the blood. They ask increasingly difficult questions, which Jean-Pierre seems completely uninterested in answering. As a result, a side story develops dealing with the growing rift between the White House and the media.

Jean-Pierre has dodged almost every question related to the classified documents scandal since it became an issue, repeating the same response to reporters that they should contact the Justice Department for more information. On Tuesday, a foreign reporter, apparently frustrated by the situation, challenged her ability to fill the job of White House press secretary.

Reporter Simon Ateba asked Jean-Pierre if she was “well suited for the job” after she refused to respond to the secret documents scandal on behalf of the President.

To say that Jean-Pierre wasn’t enthusiastic about his question would be an understatement. Below is Tuesday’s full White House briefing.

In a follow-up after the briefing, Ateba tweeted an explanation of why he said what he said in his exchange with Jean-Pierre.

Should KJP be fired?

“Today was another crazy day in the White House briefing room. Since @PressSec Karine Jean-Pierre no longer answers even basic questions about classified documents, I asked her if she was still a good fit for the job. It’s sad what’s going on,” Ateba tweeted.

It’s not the first time Ateba has questioned her ability to perform the duties requested by the White House press secretary. He asked the same question last week when Jean-Pierre quickly wrapped up Friday’s briefing.

“I asked @PressSec Karine Jean-Pierre if she was still a good fit for the press secretary job after her recent performance on classified documents, as frustration is growing in the room and some reporters are calling the briefing a ‘waste of time.’ WATCH,” Ateba tweeted on Saturday.

Tuesday’s press conference seemed remarkably awful for Jean-Pierre, as it directly contradicted Biden’s earlier statement that the COVID-19 pandemic was over. According to Jean-Pierre, it’s not just Not gone, but seems to be getting worse.

“Jean-Pierre: ‘Covid is not over yet. We’ve made that very clear. Hundreds of Americans are dying every day and cases are increasing right now,” Greg Price tweeted.

Add to the background when White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain recently announced his resignation amid the construction documents scandal, and it’s clear that the Biden White House is hot on his heels.

Get out your popcorn because it could be a wild few weeks in the White House press conference room.
