Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) wrote a letter to President Biden on Tuesday, urging him to end the public health emergency from the coronavirus, after recently admitting that the Chinese coronavirus pandemic is now ” is over.
After months of efforts to maintain mask requirements and force vaccinations on American workers, Biden said in an appearance over the weekend 60 minutes that “the pandemic is over”.
“We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still working hard on that. It is — but the pandemic is over,” Biden said said.
“When you notice that nobody is wearing masks. Everyone seems to be in pretty good shape. And that’s why I think it’s changing. And I think this is a perfect example of that,” he added.
His remarks drew widespread criticism as Biden has long used the pandemic to expand federal government powers, reluctantly accepting defeat after a Florida judge ruled the mask mandate unconstitutional earlier this year. His government accepted an even bigger defeat months earlier after the Supreme Court dejected the massive employer vaccination regulation that would have affected tens of millions of US workers through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
As a result of Biden’s recent statement, Tenney wrote a letter to Biden reminding the president that his acknowledgment — that the pandemic is over — has already been widely recognized by the vast majority of Americans, who have been leading normal lives for well over a year.
“As the United States is completing its third calendar year under a COVID public health emergency (PHE), I am writing to you today and urge you to heed your words: end the state of emergency,” Tenney wrote and explained the need for the PWT “no longer exists”:
Former Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Alex Azar first determined that a PHE exists on January 31, 2020 under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act. At the time, COVID-19 posed a clear threat to the American people, which justified the PHE. This allowed the Trump administration to ensure the widespread availability of free COVID tests and vaccines, and to take other action as needed, to help our country meet the current challenges.
However, with the end of the pandemic, there is no longer a need for the PHE. Even the chief medical adviser to the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauci has said the virus will likely never be eradicated. The appropriate response, therefore, is to learn to live with and deal with the virus, not to maintain a permanent state of emergency and government control that allows our rights to be violated. Instead of renewing the PHE, consider terminating it in line with your assessment that the pandemic is over. The American people are returning to normal life. The federal government must too.
Tenney urged Biden to provide an explanation as to why he would choose to renew the PHE if he takes that path, especially given that he himself has declared the pandemic “over.”
Others have made similar calls:
Agree Mr. President – the emergency is over. As the person who coordinated the COVID public health emergency, it should be lifted immediately, and my old agency (HHS) must end their vaccination mandate immediately. Leaving her proves you care more about control than public health. pic.twitter.com/vGZIjyQath

When the administration declares the pandemic over, the public health emergency will end and with it many of the administrative waivers provided by CMS. Here is a list of disclaimers that will end.

Will the Biden administration now come up with its plan to end the public health emergency? We’ve been asking for it for months.

Biden admitted last night that the COVID pandemic is over.
In other words, there is no “permanent emergency” that could justify his proposal to provide student loans.

Last night, Biden admitted that “the pandemic is over.”
The ongoing “public health emergency” was the entire basis for Biden’s unconstitutional student loan forgiveness plan.
Emergency powers, vaccination mandates and COVID funding requests should be invalidated TODAY!
