Riot Games will take over League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics in Southeast Asia from next year’s Games

After being granted Garena the rights to publish League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics for so long, Riot Games is preparing to take the helm and self-publish the games starting in January 2023.

Riot published a blog post on their website on January 23 about Garena’s move to Riot Games.

The League developers are already releasing VALORANT in the region themselves.

Riot has announced that they will also expand their presence in the region, opening new offices in its Philippines and in Indonesia. Account migration from Garena to Riot will start on November 19th, 2022. Garena and Riot are working so well.

During the transfer, everything should go ahead as planned with the skin, rank, riot, and level intact. Summoner names are reserved if you play at least one TFT or League game in the 2021 or 2022 seasons. Friends lists may not seem complete at first if their friends haven’t transferred their accounts.

As you are using Garena League account, now you cannot migrate your account before December 31st; and it is wasted to remove your account and lose everything you worked hard for. Riot advised everyone that players should have moved their accounts immediately just to make sure they are safe.

Another exciting thing Riot will be doing for League is that after completing the transition from Garena to Riot, the local and regional championships will now be managed by Riot for the region, with the potential to shed light on everyone who is in the Southeast Asia’s esports scene are working to give them the spotlight they deserve.
