Three firefighters were on the scene at 11.36am at the scene of the fire in Aldfield, near Ripon.

According to the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, firefighters found five propane cylinders “well ablaze” which then spread to nearby pheasant pens.

They said crews fought the fire but large numbers of pheasants died as a result of the fire.
