RMT announces strike date after union rejects wage offer
Workers from 14 rail companies across England and Wales are set to go on strike after the union found the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) proposal came with “unacceptable” conditions.
Commenting on the proposed strike action, RMT Secretary General Mick Lynch said: “The Government is again not allowing this to happen.” rail Delivery Group to make an improved offer that we can consider.
“Therefore we must continue our industrial campaign to reach a negotiated settlement on jobs, wages and working conditions.”

“Ministers cannot simply wish this dispute away.”

The RMT The leader added: “The government must now unblock the RDG and allow them to make an offer that can be put to a referendum by our members.”
When will RMT rail workers go on strike in June?
About 20,000 railway workers will go on strike on Friday 2 June.
This came after strikes disrupted the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool on May 13.
Although we were in contact with the RDG, no new deal was proposed to the union bosses.
