Rohit Sharma stunned by 11-year-old bowler

An 11-year-old fan caught the attention of Team India captain Rohit Sharma during India’s practice ahead of their T20 World Cup warm-up match against Australia at the Gabba on Monday (October 17). The right-handed batter was amazed at the left-handed seamer’s skillful bowling action.

On Instagram, the official name of the Indian cricket team wrote:

“When an 11-year-old wowed @rohitsharma45 with his sleek action! A fascinating story of Drushil Chauhan who caught the attention of the Team India captain and was invited to the nets and the Indian dressing room. #T20 World Championship.”

The Indian skipper not only faced the kid in the nets but also gave him his autograph to make his day unforgettable. In a video, the youngster revealed that he wants to play for India in the future.

Rohit has racked up 540 runs in 23 T20Is this year with an average of 25.71, spanning a couple of half centuries. He registered a couple of ducks in the recently concluded three-game T20I series against South Africa. However, his batting average of 142.48 was decent as an opener.

The Men in Blue will rely heavily on the senior batsman to provide a quick start for the middle class to rake in money throughout the tournament. In a recent interview with India News, former Indian selector Saba Karim said Rohit will need to lead from the front at the T20 World Championships in Australia.

“Rohit Sharma has a lot to contribute in the upcoming T20 World Cup and I want him to emerge as a full player to increase more chances for India to win the tournament.”
