Rolf Harris ITV documentary will examine ‘abuse in plain sight’


Rolf Harris and his crimes will be the subject of an upcoming ITV documentary, airing on ITVX.

The convicted pedophile, 92, was found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault in 2014.

He was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison and was released in May 2017.

An ITV executive announced the two-part document will investigate how the former Australian television personality allegedly abused victims “in public”.

Rolf Harris becomes the subject of an ITV documentary

The documentary, which was made by production company Optomen, will feature contributions from Harris’ victims.

Police officers who investigated him and television colleagues who worked with him will also be seen.

According to a press release, the documentary will tell the story of how his attacks reportedly grew in severity throughout his television career.

Harris had top 10 hits with Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport, Jake the Peg and Two Little Boys in the 1960s.

He then rose to fame on television in Rolf’s Cartoon Club and Animal Hospital.

In addition, the documentaries will also explore Harris’ alleged ruthless attitude in court.

It also examines why his wife and daughter decided to stand by him.

In addition, it also reflects on the nature of the historic child abuse – and whether it would have been exposed if Operation Yewtree had not taken place following the death of Jimmy Savile.
