Rugby World Cup 2023: Fixtures, full schedule, results, kick-off times, venues and odds

The Rugby World Cup begins tonight as France host a promising blockbuster tournament that is wide open at the top.
Les Bleus fans will be optimistic that their first global triumph on home soil is finally upon us, with Fabien Galthie’s side brimming with depth and talent and led by the irrepressible Antoine Dupont, although injuries and controversy have rather plagued their desired preparation being one point better than their last three runner-up finishes.
France will face mighty New Zealand in Pool A, with the Rugby Championship-winning All Blacks seeking their fourth success after being beaten by England in the semi-finals in Japan four years ago.
The World Cup draw is heavily biased, having been made almost three years in advance, with top-placed Ireland and the second-placed team, as well as defending champions South Africa, trapped in a Pool B nightmare along with Scotland.
Andy Farrell’s Men in Green are adamant they will finally end their World Cup chaos after a Six Nations Grand Slam win and an impressive summer run, but the Springboks are in typically ominous mood as they look to to successfully defend their crown.
Wales and Australia – who have particularly struggled under Warren Gatland and Eddie Jones respectively – are familiar opponents, as is English conquerors Fiji in Group C, while Steve Borthwick’s England endured a harrowing pre-tournament journey against Argentina, Japan , Samoa and Chile in Pool D.
Few have given England a chance of winning their second Webb Ellis Cup and first in two decades after a torrid 2023 so far, although Borthwick is confident they will spring a few surprises in France.
Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Rugby World Cup, including fixtures, kick-off times, how to watch every game for free, venues and current odds.
