Russia Live News from Ukraine: RAF Typhoon attempted to intercept planes as Bakhmut battle raged

Ukrainian “Kamikaze” drone targets Russian tanks in Kharkiv Oblast
In the first joint exercise between the two NATO allies, a Russian plane was intercepted by RAF and German fighter jets near Estonian airspace.
Two British and German Typhoon jets were muddled on Tuesday when a Russian air-to-air refueling plane failed to communicate with Estonian air traffic control.
The UK MoD stressed the “routine nature” of the mission, but it comes amid tensions between the West and Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.
It comes as Moscow’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said Russia viewed the incident involving one of its Su-27 fighter jets and a US military drone over the Black Sea as a provocation.
“The American UAV deliberately and provocatively moved into Russian territory with its transponders disabled,” Mr. Antonov said in a note published on his embassy’s website, referring to the drone as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
It follows a US surveillance drone crashing into the Black Sea after being intercepted by Russian warplanes, Washington said.
While there have been other such wiretaps, the “reckless” incident was notable because it was “unsafe and unprofessional” and caused a US plane to crash, the White House said.

The long-awaited ruling on the lawsuit, filed in 2016 and well ahead of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, paves the way for a full trial against Ukraine for having to accept the money in the face of Russian aggression.
