Ruth Langford could see This Morning return without Eamonn
Despite a bitter row between Eamonn and ITV bosses – which saw him repeatedly criticize how his exit was handled and also former co-host Phillip Schofield – Ruth still appears to be in ITV’s good books.
The pair hosted the show every Friday for 15 years before Eamonn fell out with the show. Ruth returned to This Morning with Rylan Clark for a week and recent reports suggest she was even in talks to make a full-time comeback.

“If they asked me, I would definitely consider it. I spent a week with Rylan last year and wasn’t torn about Eamonn’s situation [turning his back on ITV]. Eamonn has left ITV, it’s done and dusted.
“He has another job that he loves. Plus, I don’t have to ask Eamonn for permission to do anything, or me for him. So if ITV said, ‘Would you come and appear on This Morning for a week?’ And if I were free and it was with the right person, I would probably do it.”
In an interview for the December issue of the magazine, which focuses on Christmas, Ruth also says that she would like to have a talk show on Sunday evenings. She said, “Do I want a prime-time Sunday night talk show? Naturally! I’m always ambitious.”

“I don’t chase jobs, I set my own standards. I want my clothing line to do well; I put in my hours, I do my research, I have a good team, I show up on time and I work hard. I am a team player. I’m not a leader, but I like exchanging ideas.
“On television, age is not always positive [for a woman]. Loose Women is fantastic and thank God for that, but often age can be a disadvantage in television.
“You are at the mercy of the program controllers. You can have the best agent in the world and be – in your opinion – the best presenter ever, but if the person at the top of the chain doesn’t want to use you, then you don’t get used to it.”
