Speaking at a quarterly business update meeting for all staff, Howard Gill, Chief Executive of CTS said: “There is no doubt that these are challenging economic times, with an ongoing cost of living crisis impacting businesses across the UK .” We are no exception.
“Nevertheless, we are very encouraged by the progress we have made so far this year, with strong trading numbers across all areas of our business, supported by a healthy order book, margin improvements across the board and exciting new customers including Sainsbury’s and Bunzl .
“Additionally, we have secured market-leading suppliers from our burgeoning hygiene business, including a new partnership with Cleenol, as this business continues to grow.
“At the same time we are now taking part in major tenders for major UK companies and are building an excellent reputation as a full-line business supplies supplier, able to meet all of our customers’ needs from quality workwear to high-quality workwear and top-of-the-line hygiene products.
“We are also pleased with the rapid growth of Equithread, which specializes in providing quality, affordable workwear and uniform to the horse racing and equestrian industries.
“Equithread is proving to be a resounding success.”

CTS’ talented leadership team has been strengthened with two key appointments: James Smith as the new Production Manager and Imran Amjad as Senior Account Manager with specific responsibility for the cleaning and hygiene sector.
Howard said: “James and Imran are great additions to our tight-knit and hard-working team. Their experience and expertise will be vital in driving our business forward and ensuring we continue to be the fastest growing supplier of business workwear, office supplies and hygiene products in the North of England and a leading player in these sectors in the UK.”
CTS has extensive warehousing and distribution facilities in Northallerton to service its many reputable customers including WS Transport, Bunzl, Heck, Sainsburys, Flamingo Land and Woodsmith Construction.
Founded just four years ago, the company has enjoyed amazing growth, with projected sales of £50m by 2027.
The CTS UK premises in Northallerton were officially opened by then Chancellor and now Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
He said at the time: “The hard work and vision of companies like CTS are the backbone of the UK economy. They innovate, invest and create sustainable jobs in the Northallerton and Bedale region.”
