Sammy Lefleur wins the 7 Max Championship for $26,000

Sammy Lefleur was a PartyPoker Grand Prix KO Fall Edition Champion after navigating his way through a field of 949 in the $200,000 Guaranteed 7 Max Championship. Canadian Lefleur prevailed at a final table dominated by Norden players to replenish his bankroll with $26,197.

Only 141 of the 949 made it to Day 2, each with $237.37 locked in from the regular prize pool in addition to the bounties they collected along the way. Stars such as Jonathan Proudfoot, Jerry Odeen, Jareth eastand our own Jaime Staples made Day 2 but fell before the seven-handed final table was settled.

denmark Henrik Junker ($2,822) was the first of the seven finalists to find himself on the sidelines. Sweden Ludwig Lindstrom ($5,154), grinder from Mexico Diego Thomas ($6,664) and Dane Patrick Hyllegard ($6,717) joined the list of eliminated players.

Heads-up was wagered when Canada’s Jonathan Busseres ($9,903) fell by the wayside; The heads-up duo were now guaranteed five-digit scores.

Lafleur and Elias Suhonen from Finland went head-to-head to secure more than $13,900 from the main prize pool. Both players had sent many opponents to the rail before reaching this point, so the final bounty weighed in at over $12,000.

Lafelur did the job and walked away with the title of champion and $26,197 in prize money. Suhonen went into the night with $19,462 for his efforts.

Legoupil becomes Mini 7 Max Championship winner

The $22 buy-in Mini 7-Max Championship crowned his winner and Maltas Joffrey Legoupil is this champion. Legoupil came out on top from a field of 2,969 and turned his $22 investment into the lion’s share of the $75,000 prize pool, at $7,271.

Each of the seven finalists saw their buy-in grow from $22 to six figures, thanks in part to the bounty element of this exciting tournament. John Nugent ($1,345), Kiril Protsenko ($1,375) and Kyle Cronin ($1,721) were the first trio of finalists to fall by the wayside. Martin Alcaide Bulgaria ($2,388) and the United Kingdom Paul Murphy ($4,032) busted, leaving Legoupil heads-up against Germany’s star Daniel Yerin.

After winning more than $5,300 from the regular prize pool, the heads-up duo went into contention for the final prizes of the event. Legoupil got his hands on those final bounty, taking his total haul to an impressive $7,271 and leaving Yerin to collect the consolation prize of $6,186.
