However, it was her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing that brought her personality and family life into the public eye.
During an appearance on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast on Friday (October 13), the businesswoman told the podcast host about the first time Aljaž came to her house to meet the family – and admitted that it was a “disheartening experience.”
She said on the podcast: “He became a huge part of my life overnight, and he knew what he was doing, that boy, and he was very considerate and careful in the way he did it.”

“I can only remember the first week. It must have been a really big challenge for the whole family. My kids were nervous and didn’t know what that meant.”
“I imagine my husband was probably a little nervous, probably even a little threatened; Not that he would ever say that, but you put yourself in that position.”
While there was initially cause for concern, the Dragons Den star noted that the Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer and her husband got on really well and that Aljaž and his wife Janette Manrara are now going on holiday with Sara and her husband.

She added: “I remember the first evening when I brought Aljaž home after dancing and said: ‘Do you want to come back and have tea with us, we’re picking up the kids from school?’.”
“We were picking up the kids from school, he had football cards for them, he was crawling around on the floor playing Lego with them, and then I heard one of them shout, ‘Oh, daddy’s back’, he had Simon driving see.” on the driveway.

“Aljaž just said to me: ‘Can you maybe go and rest for half an hour, take a long shower or something?’ And I thought, what the hell?
“Well, when I got out of the shower and had spent the whole time making myself scarce for half an hour, the two of them were sitting on the sofa with the football, a beer in their hand, chatting as if they were…” I would be friends for years while the children ran around idolizing the ground he walked on.
“My whole family ate the life out of his hands.”
