Sara Pascoe said the time she did a stand-up show at Hugh Grant’s birthday party was one of her “worst performances ever”.
The comic revealed to The i that she had been booked by his friends a few years ago to perform at the Notting Hill star’s celebrations.
According to Sara, and for reasons she still doesn’t understand, the actor’s friends are deliberately organizing parties that he won’t like very much.
Recalling the experience, the Taskmaster star said: “He doesn’t come off well in this story.
“I think I was the 14th comedian they asked. Everyone else had said no.”
Sara explained why she agreed to the gig: “Partly because of the story, partly because I was excited about the idea of meeting him and also because it was £300 cash in an envelope.”
She added: “Sometimes – I don’t know if you do that – you punish a future self. You say yes to things because you think it won’t be me, but a different version of me. Then you come out and wonder why you agreed.”
Earlier this year, Hugh was forced to deal with rumors that he was set to take over Jodie Whittaker as a start Doctor Who.
To clarify on his Twitter account, Hugh insisted that he had “nothing against” Doctor Who, but that he would not be replacing Jodie in the role.
“I have no idea where the story came from,” he added.
In May sex education star Ncuti Gatwa was announced as the 14th Time Lord.
