Saturday Kitchen star Johannes Radebe has fans saying same thing today

Today in the Saturday kitchen, Johannes Radebe had the audience all saying the same thing.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional appeared on today’s show to talk about the BBC competition and what else he’s up to.

Johannes spoke about being part of the show’s first male same-sex couple with John Whaite last year.

Speaking about Strictly last year, Johannes said today: “It was special. And I think what the show was able to represent last year… I don’t know if we can top ourselves this year.”

Moderator Matt Tebbutt asked: “Were you quite concerned about being the first same-sex couple?”

John replied, “Yes. It took a little convincing.”

He continued: “I had to sit down with my confidants – one of whom was my mum.

“And I think I had to clarify that because me and my mum don’t usually talk much.

“When that came out, I called her and she said, ‘Who’s your partner?’

“I said, ‘It’s John.’ She said, “Oh, it’s a man.” I said: ‘Yes, good?’ and it was silent.”

Johannes added: “But we have to talk about it. And I think we both – and everyone else – said to me, ‘Johannes, that’s taller than you.’

“I realized this moment is bigger and I think, yes, for a community that needed a voice, I’m glad two gay proud men were on national primetime television.

“Because it sent the message of saying, ‘The world is in a better place.'”

Viewers loved seeing Johannes on the show today, and many people branded him an “inspiration.”
