Scarborough Armed Forces Day will take place again in June 2023
Armed Forces Day is held in Scarborough on June 24th, which attracted thousands of people to the town last year.
Among those arriving in Scarborough in 2022 was the Duke of Kent, leading a high-profile VIP contingent of royal, military, state and local dignitaries.
This year, Scarborough’s Armed Forces Day will feature an extensive program including demonstrations, parades, musical performances, interactive exhibits and more.
The one-day free event will also grace the sky over the city’s South Bay with the sights and sounds of aircraft displays.

These include the Titans Display Team, the Strikemasters, the Starlings Aerobatic Team and Miles Messenger.
There will be brass bands, military parades and live demonstrations on site.
There will also be booths from charities, partners and military organizations along the seafront promenade.
Scarborough won the bid to host the annual event in 2018 and preparations were well under way when it had to be postponed first to 2021 and then to 2022.
North Yorkshire Council leader Cllr Carl Les said the council was “delighted” to show its support for the soldiers and servicemen on the day.

“Armed Forces Day recognizes the important contribution our armed forces have made and continue to make to our country, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their service,” he said.
“Scarborough Armed Forces Day is one of the largest and most popular annual events in the country.
“The stunning flight displays are the main highlight of the day for many viewers and following the success of last year’s national event, this year’s program will be no exception.
“We look forward to seeing many people enjoying the family-friendly event.”

12,000 people work for the Ministry of Defense in North Yorkshire.
The county was also one of the first places in the UK to have an Armed Forces Treaty, ensuring service members and veterans have access to private and public sector services.
