Scotland v England: Three Lions trio who must take their chance to impress in today’s friendly

Areth Southgate is expected to give a small number of England’s fringe players the chance to impress against Scotland tonight.
With the number of rotations kept to a minimum, those trusted to start at Hampden Park will know the value of the opportunity they will get in this hard-fought friendly.
Here we see a Three Lions trio in need of a good performance…
Aaron Ramsdale
Jordan Pickford remains one of Gareth Southgate’s most trusted players, but Aaron Ramsdale should have a chance to make his case tonight.
The Arsenal goalkeeper faces strong competition at club level from David Raya and will therefore not miss the chance to cement his status as England’s No.2.
Calvin Phillips
The Manchester City midfielder has only played six minutes for his club this season and is currently unlikely to be given a more prominent role.
However, he remains Southgate’s preferred understudy to Jordan Henderson and will know that tonight could be a rare opportunity to remind country and club of his talents.
Marcus Rashford
Southgate has plenty of wealth to embarrass in wide areas and Marcus Rashford is expected to get the nod at left-back tonight after James Maddison failed to shine against Ukraine.
Rashford was unlucky not to be able to play more often at the World Cup and will want to use his chance to make himself as unbeatable as Bukayo Saka at the other end.
