Sephiroth Apparently wasn’t being “pressed very hard” In his Final Fantasy 7 remake, in his final battle against the cloud, Remake 8

In a tense twist due to the way the legend’s jittery remnants became, Final Fantasy Seven Remake ended with a fight between him, Cloud and the rest of the group in what appeared to be one of the greatest challenges in the story. However, Sephiroth apparently didn’t try.

For the past few months, Square Enix has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7 by introducing each chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and giving some developers a thorough walkthrough about them, explaining some Easter Eggs like Shinra from Final Fantasy 10-2 a company photo in a building. This overhaul seems to have concluded with the final chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Destiny’s Crossroads, which details the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth in a bit more detail.

Miyake asked if Cloud’s attack he used in the fight against Sephiroth would be similar to Omnislash, where Miyake said he’ll leave the names and backgrounds of the attacks up to players’ imaginations. I’m glad Miyake introduced me to the first game.

Miyake said that we didn’t think we would have a scene where Cloud and Sephiroth face each other in a duel when we started development, so we were very excited when we finished. At the beginning of the scene, we intentionally made the camera movement match how they fought in the original FFVII to remind us of the original game. It then moves on to the action part which shows Cloud fighting the almighty Sephiroth.

Square Enix also reportedly consulted a swordsman for the fight. He said that Cloud would need to use close range attacks to keep up with Sephiroth’s longer weapon (don’t google that).

Miyake ends with a bit of a debate about Sephiroth’s true power, noting, “It may seem fairly balanced, but Sephiroth isn’t very tough here,” despite having several more advanced forms that we haven’t seen yet. We can’t wait to see if Rebirth unleashes its full power. Sephiroth Apparently wasn’t being “pressed very hard” In his Final Fantasy 7 remake, in his final battle against the cloud, Remake 8
