Shops in Wealdstone High Street flooded after water main burst

Hops in a London high street were inundated with about a foot of water after a pipe burst on Wednesday morning.
At around 6.30am, four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a flood on Wealdstone High Street in Harrow.
About ten stores were affected by the flooding in the area from Locket Road to Masons Avenue.
Road closures occurred Wednesday morning and firefighters urged people to avoid the area.
Firefighters deployed sandbags to protect additional properties from damage and worked to drain floodwater that leaked from a ruptured 24-inch water main.
Station Commander Chris Swallow said, “There are road closures in place between Ellen Webb Drive and College Avenue while firefighters work with partners to keep the scene safe.”
“Traffic is backed up this morning and we urge people to avoid the area if possible.”
Firefighters from Harrow, Stanmore and Northolt fire stations were on site.
