Slim Chickens is coming to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York

Slim Chickens, an American-style restaurant, opens at 12 noon on Friday, September 22nd.

Around 30 jobs were created on the site of the former Ed’s Easy Diner, on the upper floor of the outlet, near other restaurants.

And what makes the start even tastier is that the first 30 guests in line will be treated to Slim Chickens’ famous hand-breaded chicken fillets completely free of charge!

Founded in 2003 in the heart of Arkansas, Slim Chickens has grown internationally. The first UK branch opened in 2018 and there are now several dozen, including in Leeds.

Slim Chickens specializes in serving fresh, home-cooked, Southern-style meals that will transport you straight to the heart of America.

Their signature dish is hand-breaded buttermilk chicken fillets, while their fresh buffalo wings can be served with a choice of fifteen handcrafted dipping sauces.

The menu also includes sandwiches, wraps, salads and sides, as well as plant-based options that cater to vegetarians.

The famous Slim Chickens breakfast is available until 11 a.m. and includes buttermilk chicken fillets, smoked cheddar cheese and a fried egg on Texas toast. You can get this in a breakfast or breakfast bap. All meals are served with hash browns and orange juice.

The newly designed premises promise a lively atmosphere, complete with elegant sports screens on which sporting events are broadcast.

There is seating for 56 people (indoor seating only, takeaway and click & collect available), including two impressive double-sided kiosks.

The arrival of Slim Chickens comes as McArthurGen in York continues to attract new store openings and returnees.

Last month, French Connection reopened after an absence of several years.

Other new openings include Next, Samsonite, Five Guys Burgers, 200 Degrees Coffee, Tiger of Sweden, Police, Champion, Bubble CiTea, Inter Car Cleaning, Cafe Valarie, Perfume Shop, Carvela, Puma and Hugo.
