Something Interesting Is Happening Under Trump’s Newest Tweet Just Hours After Reinstatement

After a public poll that drew over 15 million voters in 24 hours, Twitter owner Elon Musk decided by popular demand to reactivate former President Donald Trump’s suspended Twitter account.

Citing the Latin phrase “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” which translates to “The voice of the people is the voice of God,” Musk announced less than 30 minutes after the poll officially ended that the 45th President’s account was back would be put online.

Trump’s Twitter account resurfaced, revealing all of his previous tweets, which were discontinued in January 2021 when he was originally suspended. Something interesting started happening in the comment sections of several of his older tweets, especially on the most recent or “latest” tweet on his Twitter feed.

“To everyone who has asked, I will not be attending the inauguration on January 20,” Trump tweeted on January 8, 2021.

That tweet alone was immediately flooded with messages of support and even went viral after a new round of retweets. Many Twitter users, and presumably his supporters, welcomed the President back to the platform.

Do you think Trump should return to Twitter fully?

That particular comment alone received over 16,000 likes. Others like it also received a lot of attention.

Others went into more detail in their welcome back messages.

In both the short and long versions, the same message echoed far down the list of replies to his nearly two-year-old tweet, suggesting Musk made the right decision in restoring Trump’s account.

Still, others had a little fun in response to Trump’s latest tweet, and many credited Musk with bringing to life what seemed improbable just weeks ago. One person tweeted a parody of Trump awarding Musk with a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The question is whether the former president will use his old Twitter account. He has said many times, and even in the last few days, that he would probably still take a pass and stay with Truth Social should his account be restored.

During a remote appearance at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting, Trump was asked if he would return to Twitter if Musk reestablished his account. According to The Times of Israel, he complimented Musk on acquiring the platform but dismissed the possibility of returning.

“I see no reason for that. There’s a lot of trouble on Twitter, you see what’s going on,” Trump said. “You may or may not make it, but the problems are terrible. The commitments are negative. And you have a lot of bots and you have a lot of fake accounts.

However, many believe that 86.5 million followers on Twitter (at the time of this writing) and growing, the temptation to resume tweeting is far too great, especially considering the reach he would have compared to the fraction of the number of followers he has on his Truth Social account has, at about 4.6 million.
