Spandau Ballet fans say same thing about Martin Kemp’s singing

Spandau Ballet fans have come to the same conclusion after Martin Kemp took to Instagram to sing his band’s 1983 song Gold.

The actor and musician, 60, who played bass for the 1980s new wave band, shared a video of himself celebrating Arsenal’s win yesterday (5 August).

His caption read: “Zinchenko always believe in your soul!! @arsenal @romankemp @arsenalwfc.”

In the video, Martin can be heard saying, “I just have to say one thing,” before singing, “Zinchenko, always believe in your soul. You have the power to know that you are indestructible. Always believe in…”

One fan took to the comments section and joked, “No wonder Tony [Hadley] was lead singer!”

A second wrote: “Thank god Tony can’t play bass.”

Martin would be happy about a reunion of the Spandau Ballet

Back in 2020, Martin revealed he still hopes Spandau Ballet to see you again.

He told Smooth Radio: “I’m always for it. It’s a really strange thing. Sometimes – it’s often about ego. You know, it’s people who get over arguments.

“Because I grew up acting, I think I’ve worked with a lot of people over the years that I don’t quite get along with. But you have to. So I think my look at it is different.”

Martin added: “But the way things are at the moment – Spandau, you know, we’re very volatile. We’re best friends when we’re together and we’re not when we’re apart.

“Trying to bring us together is so difficult. Too much has happened and too much has been said over the years that makes it so difficult these days.”
