Stefon Diggs breaks silence on losing it at Josh Allen during Bengals loss

The Buffalo Bills were the biggest disappointment for the Divisional Round as they were no match for the Cincinnati Bengals at home, losing 27-10 and ending their AFC playoff run earlier than expected.

The Bengals were the dominant team from start to finish and the Bills clearly didn’t live up to their regular standards. Star wide receiver Stefon Diggs took to Twitter after a poor performance and attributed his reactions to frustration with the game.

Do you want me to be okay with losing? nope

Should I be okay with our level of play if it’s not up to standard? nope

It’s easy to criticize my reaction more than the result.

Josh Allen’s poor performance throughout the game was noticed and Diggs was seen yelling at his quarterback during the loss. It’s nothing new for the receiver to yell at his quarterback, but it’s an unusual scene since he moved to Buffalo from Minnesota.

Diggs only hauled 35 yards on four throws from Allen as the Bills couldn’t muster productive offense in the heavy snow. The team was considered one of the favorites to win the conference, but they have a long offseason ahead after their second straight divisional round loss.

This is where Damar Hamlin’s situation became a competitive issue for Buffalo. With the cancellation of the Week 17 game against Cincinnati, the Bills lost the first seed advantage in the AFC and were unable to avoid the Bengals in the Divisional Round. The Chiefs, benefiting from their winning percentage, made easy work of the Jaguars.

What’s next for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills?

One of the main reasons the team struggled in the second half of the season was injuries. Although still playing, Allen was struggling with a UCL injury that made it painful for him to throw the football. He was far from his best during the loss to the Bengals.

Buffalo were a different team — and not in a good way — when Von Miller went down for the season with a cruciate ligament tear. Hamlin’s injury also hurt during the playoffs because he had become a valuable starter following Micah Hyde’s injury.

Right now they need to get healthy and take an honest look in the mirror to find out why they haven’t been able to win the AFC in the last three seasons with one of the most talented squads in the league.
