Strictly and Coronation Street stars head to Waterloo Road
Ellie Leach, from Bury, who played Faye Windass in the ITV soap, is among the famous faces lining up for the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing this month.
And reports suggest she could remain at the BBC for the foreseeable future, with the broadcaster tipping her for a role in Waterloo Road once Strictly is finished.
A source told The sun Newspaper: “Ellie was hugely popular when she appeared on the cobbles of Weatherfield as Faye Windass and there is every chance she will be a bigger success when she hits the dance floor.”

“As the shine falls on the upcoming series of Strictly, they want to capitalize on its mass appeal and transfer it to Waterloo Road.”
“You don’t want to leave it too late and have another show snatch them up.”
Ellie made her debut on Corrie as a child star in 2011 when she was nine, but left in May when her character left Weatherfield and moved to Slough.
This season of Strictly already features a Waterloo Road star – Adam Thomas – who was previously a cast member of ITV soap Emmerdale.
Other celebrities taking part in the new series of the dance show include EastEnders star Nigel Harman, TV legend Les Dennis, Bad Education actor Layton Williams, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington and TV presenter Angela Rippon – who is the show’s oldest at 78 will – ever be a participant.
It is expected that the new series will be back on television on September 23rd.
After her casting on Strictly was announced, Ellie called it the role of a lifetime. During an appearance on BBC Breakfast, she gushed: “It still doesn’t feel real that I’m going to be doing Strictly! It’s always been a dream of mine, so I guess dreams really do come true!”
