Strictly star Bobby Brazier leaves dad Jeff Brazier in tears

The 20-year-old received the audience-voted Rising Star Award for his role as Freddie Slater in the BBC soap.

When Freddie entered Albert Square he was described by the executive producers as being “full of mischief”.

Bobbie dedicated the award to his TV presenter father during his on-stage acceptance speech, leaving the 44-year-old to be comforted by his son’s EastEnders castmate Molly Rainford.

In his speech he said: “This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my father.”

“Over the last 20 years I’ve heard him say, ‘Because I can’.”

“It was a mantra or a moto of his, and he just said it was… Because I can do it!”

Bobby is also the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody, who died of cancer in 2009.
