Summary of High Desert Season 1 Episode 3

We recap Episode 3 of Season 1 of the Apple TV+ series High Desert, I’m Getting Close to This Guru Bastard, which contains spoilers.

We’re two episodes after the premiere of high desert, And Peggy (Patricia Arquette) is about to put things into action by confronting her new boss BruceBrad Garrett.

However between Guru Bob (Rupert friend) As Peggy sinks his teeth into her and the arrival of her ex-husband, a whirlwind of events awaits her.

Summary of High Desert Season 1 Episode 3

The episode begins with Guru Bob running to the ER and asking them to save his nipple, which is in his hands after being cut off by the people behind him. It also picks up where we left off when Peggy’s car was wrecked under a truck.

After escaping this situation, she comes home to her sister and shows her mother’s house to a worshiper whom she chases away. Peggy tells her sister about her new job and asks her to put money into her account for a new car, which she agrees to.

What details did Carol find out about Guru Bob?

His wife was missing. He claimed he went to Mexico, but the family never bought it and there was a $70,000 reward. Carol and Peggy both believe Bob killed them. The duo feel they might have a shot at claiming the reward money.

Peggy tells Bruce about Guru Bob’s wife, but he already knows the details. He said she left a message, emptied a bank account and found the car in Mexico.

For some reason, Peggy takes the news as a good thing and looks forward to getting the reward money. Carol tells her that she also saw Peggy’s mother at the bus stop. Peggy freaks out and runs to chase the bus.

What happens when Peggy confronts the woman on the bus?

After getting on the bus, she meets up with this woman who may be her mother, only to find out it’s someone else. She is an actress from New York who is in town. Before getting off the bus, Peggy gets her phone number and says that she knows people and that her acting career is far from over.

Carol tells her that she should make a play out of this and how she could write it to work through her stuff. Peggy gets a call from the hospital stating that Bob didn’t provide any information about himself, except that he had her number on his arm.

So Peggy picks him up from the hospital and can take him home. He tells her that she owes him three grand for what he did to her tammy and forces him to sign a check for four grand while drugged.

Owen tries to cash the check Peggy gave her and ends up in jail for cashing a stolen check. She comes to bail him out of jail, apologizes and says she will find the money to give it to him. She storms Guru Bob’s house to tell him he needs to drop the charges.

However, he has other plans and lets her have dinner with him. The two agree on a deal. She sells his painting and gets 20% in return, with four grand upfront that he owes Tammy, and if the check doesn’t clear, she pulls out the other nipple for him.

The ending of High Desert Season 1 Episode 3 explained

As things begin to improve for their partnership, the duo emerge who need their money from Guru Bob. Also, dianne calls Peggy to tell her that Denny is released from prison and knocks on the door. Peggy tells her sister to leave the house and Denny tells her to go with her.

Guru Bob asks, “Who is Denny?” Peggy replies, “My fucking husband.” When she returns home, Denny is in the house and says an early release at the end of the episode.
