Superior Grill posts Lafayette planning permission on Facebook

Ever since Superior Grill announced it would be opening a location in Lafayette, residents have been anticipating its opening.

It’s been just over a year since we learned that the Superior Grill would be opening on the property that had been the home of the old Randol’s Restaurant for decades.

Superior Grill fans, already familiar with their locations in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and even Alabama, were initially very excited when they heard that Lafayette would be getting its own location.

Not long after the news that Superior Grill would be building in Lafayette, the restaurant shared a post from Developing Lafayette reporting on Randol’s being demolished to make way for their new home in the Hub City.

But then months went by with no public updates as some began to wonder if the deal went through.

There were a few posts from the Superior Grill Lafayette Facebook page letting their fans know that the Superior team was just as excited to get the ball rolling as they were.

But then, in the early hours of Friday morning, the Superior Grill Lafayette posted its first Facebook update in about five months — and to say it was the update Lafayette residents have been waiting for would be an understatement.

The post was a photo of a building permit from the Lafayette Consolidated Government, which gave Superior Grill the green light to begin construction of their restaurant at 2320 Kaliste Saloom Road.

The permit was issued on Wednesday (January 11) and Superior Grill’s caption said everything we needed to know about their (near) future plans.

A little over a year after acquiring the property, Superior Grill is slated to begin construction, and fans of the restaurant, who woke up to the news, couldn’t have been more excited.

We’ll keep you posted as we look forward to food, fun and—of course—margaritas at Superior Grill Lafayette.
