Susanna Reid returns to GMB after recovering from health problems

Reid was due to appear on GMB last Wednesday following the National Television Awards (NTAs) but was replaced by Charlotte Hawkins because she lost her voice.

Last Wednesday she appeared briefly on GMB to apologize for not being on air.

Reid said, “I’m fine, I just can’t talk.”

“I do not know what happened). I don’t know if it was the heat wave that ignited my vocal cords?”

“It’s funny because last night was the NTAs and when I got in my taxi to leave the driver said you’re the very first person to leave the NTAs, you’re obviously not partying!?”

“And of course I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, so there’s absolutely no reason why I can understand that I’ve lost my voice.”

“I’m really sorry, all I can do is apologize, but thank you Charlotte for stepping in. I didn’t do anything for three hours to do this to our wonderful viewers.”

Susanna Reid returns to GMB after an absence

Reid was supposed to come back yesterday GMB show but had to withdraw again because her vocal cords were still not quite right.

When she was up yesterday

“The vocal cords are still affected. Recovery through specialist treatment and great tips from viewers. See you soon!”

But Reid returned GMB Today I’m joining Ed Balls behind the desk.

In a post on X, she said: “BACK! “Voice is recovering.”

Fans were thrilled to see Reid back on air this morning, taking to social media to express their praise for the presenter and wish her a full recovery.

While a third fan commented: “Welcome back, looks and sounds great.”
