Sylvester Stallone blasts Dolph Lundgren for Ivan Drago spin-off

Sylvester Stallone slammed Dolph Lundgren, producer Irwin Winkler, and his kids Charles and David Winkler over a Drago spin-off. The 76-year-old didn’t hold back as he revealed his thoughts on social media in now-deleted Instagram posts.

Stallone was the brains behind the hit film series Rocky. He created a slew of films, all of which were box office hits.

Here’s what he had to say in a series of now-deleted Instagram posts:

“Just found this out… AGAIN AGAIN, IRWIN WINKLER, that DECLARING 94 year old PRODUCER and HIS MORONIC VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles and David, are once again picking THE BONES of another wonderful character I’ve created without even telling myself. My apologies to the FANS, I never wanted ROCKY characters to be taken advantage of by these parasites.”

He continued:

“By the way, I once had nothing but respect for Dolph, but he NEVER told me what was going on behind my back with the character I created for him!!! REAL FRIENDS are more precious than gold.”

After the original Rocky series, Sylvester Stallone brought out the Creed series with Michael B. Jordan, in which Balboa became the coach. In an attempt to duplicate this, producer Irwin Winkler and his sons teased a new project. It depicts the life of Drago with Dolph Lundgren as the main character.

Lundgren and Sylvester Stallone are close friends, which infuriated the 76-year-old when he heard the news of a spin-off based on a character he created.

Dolph Lundgren reacts to Sylvester Stallone on Instagram

Dolph Lundgren played Ivan Drago in Rocky and has starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in several films. He reacted to the whole situation on Instagram.

The 64-year-old tried his best to explain the situation, assuring fans he is in touch with his former co-star and trying to make things better:

“Just to clarify the facts regarding a possible Drago spinoff. There is no approved script, no contracts, no director and I personally felt that my friend Sly Stallone was involved as a producer or even as an actor.”

He added:

“There was a press leak last week, which was unfortunate. In touch with Mr. Balboa – just so all the fans can relax… There you go.”

He assured fans that this was not public fallout, but rather a case of misunderstanding. Lundgren also said that the film isn’t official yet and it’s just an idea that the producers presented to him.
