Addressing concerns about the difficulty of this year’s sats, which brought tears to some sixth-formers, Schools Secretary Nick Gibb said: “I haven’t seen the paper yet. I’ll check it out next week when it’s available.

“The Standards and Testing Agency tested this test before the pandemic, they tested it with a large group of children last year, they monitored the reaction of these children to the test and to the questions and found that 85% enjoyed it have.” take the test.
