Team News Luton Town v Sunderland Roberts and Pritchard start in Luton
Both Patrick Roberts and Alex Pritchard have overcome the injury woes that forced them out of Saturday’s first leg at the Stadium of Light.
This allows both to feature in the starting XI at Kenilworth Road as the Black Cats attempt to secure a place in the play-off final at Wembley.
As expected, Aji Alese has returned to the squad for the first time since early March after recovering from injury, although the defender is only named on the substitutes’ bench.
That means Sunderland continue to field a three-man defensive system, with Trai Hume, Luke O’Nien and Lynden Gooch playing in the middle half. Roberts and Jack Clarke will continue to fill the full-back positions.
Luton manager Rob Edwards has also named an unchanged starting XI as his side look to come back from a goal down from the first leg.
LUTON (3-5-2): Horvath; Osho, Lockyer, Bell; Drameh, Mpanzu, Nakamba, Clark, Doughty; Morris, Adebayo.
Substitutes: Shea, Potts, Berry, Burke, Campbell, Onyedinma, Taylor.
SUNDERLAND (3-4-3): Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Gooch; Roberts, Neil; Ekwah, Clarke; Amad, Pritchard, Gelhardt.
Substitutes: Bass, Lihadji, Ba, Anderson, Michut, Alese, Huggins.
