Teesside rapist sentenced to 25 years in prison and deemed ‘dangerous’
James Walton burst into her home as she opened the door, then launched a horrific, violent sexual assault on the woman.
The 33-year-old dragged her through the house, strangled her to near unconsciousness and then repeatedly raped her, Teesside Crown Court learned.
A judge heard how the victim’s ordeal lasted 14 hours before she managed to escape the evil pervert’s clutches.

Prosecutor Ian West said Walton had only been out of prison for a few months when he attacked his third female victim.
The court heard how the violent thug forced the woman to clean up behind him and demanded that she wash the linens before attempting to force her to drop the allegations after he was arrested.
The woman burst into tears as she attempted to read her victim’s statement, and members of the public were thrown out of the courtroom by the judge after a litany of vile and threatening insults were hurled at her.

Walton, of Ashling Way, Middlesbrough, was found guilty of three counts of rape, assault with actual bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, harassment and intimidation of witnesses.
Victoria Lamballe mitigated that she could hardly speak on behalf of her clients as he felt guilty of the offenses before asking the judge to take into account that he had already been recalled on his license.
Judge Howard Crowson handed down a 25-year sentence – 19 of which was remand and six with extended licenses – for calling the defendant a “dangerous man”.
“They have a history of violence and domineering behavior towards women. You have your hands around her neck. “And just slit your face,” he said.

“She wasn’t allowed to leave her house. They raped her three times.”
“There is a need to protect women from serious harm from you. I have come to the conclusion that you are a dangerous man and I will issue a longer sentence.”
Walton was told he would serve two-thirds of the sentence before being eligible for release.
He was also given an indefinite sex offender reporting order.
