The 16 best deals: gaming headsets, Lego sets and iPads

The exact time varies, but at some point many of us experience seasonal affective disorder. (It happened to me this week.) The days are shorter, the skies are bleaker, and winter is just around the corner. We can’t keep the sun shining all year round, but we can make the transition to hibernation feel a little less daunting. Keep yourself entertained with these great deals on board games, Lego sets and our all-time favorite iPad. Be sure to check out our deals roundup from earlier this week on TVs, gaming peripherals and wireless headphones.

Tech Deals

Apple iPad

We’ve seen this offer a few times before, but it’s still generally the lowest price you can get. The Apple iPad 9th generation (8/10, WIRED recommends) is the best iPad for most people. This tablet offers excellent value for money. It’s fast and powerful enough for most tasks, and compatible with most of our favorite iPad accessories.

Very few products receive a WIRED rating of 10/10, but this gaming headset does. The battery lasts an amazing 300 hours on a single charge. That’s ten times longer than some other headsets. The sound quality is also great and the headset is comfortable. They’ve dropped the price this low before, but they rarely go lower. Did we mention that the battery lasts 300 hours?

While it’s not a bargain, you will receive a $20 Target gift card with your purchase. This promotion ends today. It’s not a bad idea if you already buy something from Target. The Skylight frame is an honorable mention in our guide to the best digital photo frames. It comes with a wall mount (you still need to hang a cord out to power it), or you can use the included stand.

Strong e-bikes

Photo: Rad Power Bikes

Rad Power Ebikes is offering up to $300 off some electric bike models. This is an outstanding feature RadRunner 2 electric cargo bike for $1,299 ($200 off). We recommend Rad Power bikes in our Best Cargo Ebikes and Best Ebikes for Elderly Riders guides. To quote from the former: “It is worth mentioning here that Rad Power has been going through a lot of late.” a turbulent series of lawsuits and dismissals; However, we have tested these bikes and know a number of people who have owned and operated their bikes responsibly for years without any problems.”

The Segway P100S (8/10, WIRED Recommends) weighs a whopping 73 pounds, so it’s not really suitable for someone traveling without feet. But it is very powerful and can reach a top speed of 30 miles per hour. The range is quite long and it is super stable on the road. You even get turn signals. We thought it was a little overpriced at the RRP, but this discount makes it a great value.

Photo: Arlo

We recently downgraded this video doorbell because Arlo increased prices on its subscription service, but also because we started noticing lag in the live video feed. (There’s a two- to three-second delay.) Still, it offers a wide field of view, quick alerts, and detailed video quality. You can also set it so that when someone presses the doorbell, it triggers a call to your phone. This is a great price for this doorbell, but be aware of the lag issues. This deal ends on October 22nd.

This is our favorite outdoor security camera right now. You get crystal-clear footage whether day or night, fast load times for the live feed, and smart notifications that detect who or what is in the frame. There is also HDR support. For more information, check out our guide to the best outdoor security cameras. This deal ends on October 22nd.

Lego and games offers

Photo: Amazon

If your child says, “I want Legos for Christmas!” then look no further. This box contains 790 bricks for the ultimate in imaginative play. There are baseplates, windows, doors, classic square bricks and more. The box doubles as a storage place for all these small parts.

This building set includes over 1,600 pieces and is suitable for children ages 8 and up. 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, so one of the buildable wagons features a rabbit motif. There is also a dragon chariot and a musicians chariot. The set contains 18 minifigures.

This Lego building set rarely goes on sale, so even $20 off is a good deal. The set was specially developed for adults and is suitable for people aged 18 and over. The kit includes two smaller pyramids, a section of the Nile, a Sphinx statue and more.

It’s almost that time of year. The winter crazies are looming and with them the cries of “I’m bored!” There’s nothing to do!” This board game sale might be helpful. There are plenty of family-friendly options to choose from. My board game night favorites include: Exploding kittens, Don’t break the iceAnd Codenames. For more recommendations, check out our guide to the best board games for the whole family.

Several Bethesda digital titles are available on the Nintendo Switch eShop, including Doom, SkyrimAnd Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Prices start at $4. So this is a good way to add some new games to your library inexpensively. You will find more offers here. They run until October 31st.

Other Offers

Breville Barista Express

Photo: Breville

This deal is a holdover from Amazon Prime Day. It’s still a treat. The Breville Barista Express is one of our favorite all-in-one espresso machines. It includes a grinder that allows you to grind your coffee directly into the portafilter, fresh for every single shot, so you get the best possible flavor from your beans. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been using his model since 2018 without any problems.

It’s almost time for gift wrapping. Click the on-page coupon to get a good price on this huge package of tape that features 1,000-inch seam adhesion. Normally it costs around $17.

DreamCloud hybrid mattress

Photo: Dreamcloud

DreamCloud’s Fall Flash Sale calls for 50 percent off mattresses, but that’s because the MSRP is inflated and the products are constantly displayed “on sale.” However, this is actually a decent deal for a pretty good mattress in our Best Mattresses guide. While there isn’t a 50 percent discount, the retail price is less than what this mattress normally costs. This deal ends on October 30th.

Once you use a utility truck, you’ll never go back. This collapsible model is easy to store and unfold when needed. This makes transporting cool boxes, sleeping bags and other utensils child’s play. It can also come in handy when you’re unloading your groceries – or, as in my case, returning from the UPS store with a mountain of boxes.
