The best airlines in the world revealed – but it’s not good news for Brits

THE BEST airlines in the world have been unveiled – although Britons shouldn’t be surprised that none from the UK made the list.

A study conducted by luggage storage company Bounce analyzed 62 of the world’s largest airlines, using data from OAG.com and ratings from Skytrax.

This is not good news for Brits as no British airlines made the top 10 list.

Singapore Airlines took the top spot, scoring high for meals, inflight entertainment, and seating comfort and staff service.

It offers some of the most domestic checked bags, up to 30kg, alongside airlines like Qatar Airways (30kg) and Ethiopian Airlines (32kg).

They were also highly rated for their international baggage allowance (30kg), beaten only by All Nippon, which placed second overall, and Ethiopian Airlines.

Also among the top 10 were Finnair, Emirates and Qatar Airways.

However, the worst airlines were also unveiled, with Ryanair being the only UK airline to make the bottom ten.

It was rated poorly due to the lack of in-flight entertainment as well as the lack of baggage allowance.

With 3 out of 5 points, it didn’t do badly in the personal service, but ended up in ninth place.

However, the no-frills model can also be attributed to the low fares, which start from as little as £7.99 each way.

Worst airlines also included Lion Air, Wins Air and flydubai, while Wizz Air also ranked in the top 10 worst.

Bounce said in a statement: “Your choice of airline can have a significant impact on your overall flying experience.

“That’s why we unveiled the best and worst international and domestic airlines.”

Another study ranked the best low-cost airlines in the world, and three from the UK made the list.
