On yesterday’s episode of The Chase, Jane took on the Chasers along with three other contestants.

“It’s slippery, your dad, isn’t it!” remarked an astonished Bradley. “Wow! That’s extraordinary.”

She also revealed that her grandfather’s brother used to run an illegal alcohol trade in New York. He also had his own speakesy.

“He made a lot of money,” she said.

Stunned viewers took to Twitter after Jane’s confessions – many joking that she mistook The Chase for The Jeremy Kyle Show or Long Lost Family.

“She’s confusing #TheChase with Jeremy Kyle,” joked one viewer.

“She thinks she’s on Who Do You Think You Are #thechase,” wrote another.

“Your dad sounded like a real scumbag thought I was watching #longlostfamily,” a third tweeted.

“You’re on the wrong show. Long Lost Family is like that,” said another.

What else happened on The Chase last night?

The performances on yesterday’s episode of The Chase were awful to say the least.

First up was Bennett, who only got one correct answer in the Cash Builder. He dodged pursuer Paul Sinha to bring his £1,000 back to the table.

Amisha was next, and although she picked up £6,000 at Cash Builder, Paul caught her.

Austin finished third and managed to collect £7,000 in Cash Builder. However, Paul caught him too.

Last came Jane who decided to take the hefty offer of £52,000. But it too fell to Paul.

This meant Bennett was the only one in the Final Chase playing for £1,000. He managed to get just eight steps between himself and Paul and was caught with 1:20 to go.

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
