The Court of Appeals gives Kari Lake great news on her election case

The Arizona Circuit Court of Appeals has awarded Republican Kari Lake a trial victory in her lawsuit challenging the results of the 2022 gubernatorial election.
Lake ended up at the bottom of the count with Democrat Katie Hobbs, who has already taken office.
However, Lake has claimed there were a number of voting irregularities centered on Maricopa County, including printer problems that caused many ballots to be rejected and long lines at polling stations. She is therefore suing for new elections in the district.
On Tuesday, the court issued an order agreeing to treat the lawsuit as special action, which Lake’s legal team said it had requested Arizona Daily Star.
“Our appointment was accepted in substance. That said, contrary to what @katiehobbs and her Pravda media say, the court recognizes this lawsuit has merit. Our evidence will be given due consideration in court. That scares Hobbs & Company to death. It should be,” Lake tweeted.

Hobbs’ attorneys have until Tuesday to present their case against Lake.

The three-judge panel will hear Lake’s case on February 1.
The case was originally scheduled to be heard in March news week.
In tweet In messages to her supporters, Lake wrote, “Don’t underestimate @KariLake’s desire to seek justice for the people of Arizona. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. She’s going to pull this off.”

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson last month dismissed Lake’s claim that the printer problems were the result of a deliberate plan to reduce the number of Republicans voting that day, according to the Daily Star.
Lake claimed that the rules of the chain of custody for ballots in Maricopa County were not being followed and claimed that the signatures on the envelopes containing early ballots did not match the records.

At one point, Lake wanted to skip the appeals court and take her case directly to the Arizona State Supreme Court, but the higher court denied her request.
In a court filing, the GOP candidate’s attorneys wrote that the evidence presented in court proved that Maricopa County officials “created the chaos that wrought in nearly two-thirds of Maricopa’s 223 voting centers [on Election Day]admitted after the initial denial, the illegally misconfigured ballots were planted in the election, causing tabulators to reject tens of thousands of ballots and disproportionately targeted Republican voters.”
