The GoldenEye 007 Remake could be brought to Xbox Game Pass by February

A Twitter user named eXtas1stv, who is now considered a credible source after posting several stories from Xbox, Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, is now claiming that the remastered version of GoldenEye 007 could be accessible via Xbox Game Pass sooner than expected.

The four-kit version is available in Xbox Play Pass.

The cult game of the Nintendo 64 era is loved by many gamers around the world and is considered one of the best FPS games of all time. Nostalgia and the desire for a remastered version, ever present and never born, keep coming back to 2007. Game developer Rare was acquired by Microsoft in 2002 and made a subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios.

Rare was responsible for producing a faithful adaptation of the famous 1955 James Bond film. Once the first was complete, it began work in 2008 and launched the remastered version through Xbox Live Arcade. Since it was replaced with original and updated graphics and online multiplayer was added, the game was expected to be a huge hit on Xbox Live.

So rare and Microsoft never fully implemented the terms of the license agreement even after starting work on the remaster. This led to the game being cheated until it was eventually leaked in early 2021. But in the fall of 2022, Nintendo and Rare released a joint statement that GoldenEye HD remake will be available for the Nintendo Switch and a 4K version will be available for Xbox Pass.

Announcing the release of the nostalgic split-screen local multiplayer, this version of GoldenEye 007 appears to be the current port of the Eurocom game with a remastered image. That means online multiplayer isn’t available in Xbox Game Pass, despite it being a new feature for the Nintendo Switch. Small screen multiplayer is an iconic feature in the early days of console gaming.

Although GoldenEye 007 isn’t mentioned on the Xbox Game Pass list and includes titles like Screen and Lost, Dark Shadows, Armored Warriors, and The Dead Spider, there’s a chance this rumor is true.

This new addition will make the Nintendo Switch more attractive as it is the third best-selling console of all time. And any good publicity would be good for Microsoft these days, given the trouble they’re having with the Activision Blizzard deal.
