The Grandchildren Of Loretta Lynn & Conway Twitty Team Up For Cover Of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire”

The apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Tayla Lynn, the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn, and Tre Twitty, the grandson of Conway TwittyThey formed a duo called Twitty & Lynn and are currently touring together A shout out to Conway and Loretta.

And they just released a brand new cover and music video of a really cool country version of Bruce Springsteen’s Im on Fire.

Originally released in 1985, “I’m On Fire” was the fourth single from Bruce’s classic album. Born in the US As Bruce’s solo writer, it reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart the year of its release.

The music video was shot in Springsteen’s New Jersey precinct, primarily on the Jersey Boardwalk, and Tayla says the song holds a very special place in her heart.

She recalls listening to it on the radio all the time growing up with her late mother Cindy, who died suddenly in 2018:

“It’s been a long time since we last spoke, but I remember every word I had with my mom. She blasted “I’m on Fire” and taught me the words.

We oohed as one – all Springsteen rock vocals flew through open windows. Heading south… always heading south.”

When it came time for Tre and Tayla to tour, it was almost a divine intervention when “I’m on Fire” hit the radio while they were in Canada and they knew they would record it as their first single had to take out :

“Fast forward 30 years from Springsteen School with Mom and I. Tre and I are in Canada and this song is coming. We start singing as we drive north. Always north.

Whenever Tre and I are out, the radio always plays 80’s country or 80’s rock. That’s what we grew up with.

I turn the volume down and tell him about Mom and the song and the memories. He said, ‘We should delete that.’ We made. It’s our first single.”

They make one hell of a duo, and it’s great to see them honoring their grandparents’ legacy and singing their songs for this generation of country fans:

The duo recently performed their grandparents’ song “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man.” at the Grand Ole Opry:
