Rob Mullholland, manager of the Hilarity Bites comedy stage on the night, explained why he loves performing in Darlington.
He said: “Darlington is a town that knows how to party.
“New York may be the city that never sleeps, but Darlo is the city that never stops doing karaoke.”
“There is certainly no other city in the world that has such an extensive range of opportunities for amateur singing during the day, and no matter what time of day or night there will be punters there.
“This city loves fun.
“This unique energy flows through the entire festival.
“Artists, music lovers and comedy fans come together to enjoy the best of underground music and comedy.
“It’s an honor to be a part of it.”
The festival program explained how important it is for the organizers to be climate-conscious.
Jennifer Jordan said: “As the world becomes more aware of the catastrophic consequences of climate change, we here at Last Train Home Festival are thinking about how environmentally conscious individual actions can benefit the environment for future generations.”
