The new Stacked store is opening on Duke Street, Darlington
Former owners of Fit Fresh, a “healthy snack” company, “passionate cooking couple” Kieran and Katie Meredith have opened a new business – Stacked Loaded Sandwiches.
After “thinking about changing the business for a while”, the pair have converted the venue into a takeaway sandwich shop and serve the best local and handmade sarnies from their shop on Duke Street in Darlington.

Stacked Loaded Sandwiches ensure all hand-picked meats are “the best of the best” and use premium, locally sourced cuts.
“Everything is handmade – from the sauces, the marinades, the meat. “All meats are cured for 72 hours – in our own kitchen we have found this brings out the best flavor,” said Kieran.
The menu – consisting of five sandwiches – will change every two weeks, with different types of meat, different sauces and different types of bread offered every two weeks.
An avid home cook, Kieran says the sandwiches sold at the new store are “exactly what we make at home.”
“We have a small menu – but quality is our priority here.”

The bread, baked every morning at Number Eight Bakehouse at Post House Wynd in central Darlington, comes in a range of flavors which change depending on what is currently on the fortnightly menu.
The tried-and-tested homemade sarnies are already selling like hotcakes, and although they only opened their doors at 11am on Thursday (October 19), a lunchtime queue forms less than an hour later.
Stacked Loaded Sandwiches at 36 Duke Street is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
