The Night I Met Lisa Marie Presley (VIDEO)

As you may have heard, Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, suffered a cardiac arrest just before noon California time on Thursday. Priscilla asks for prayers and privacy for the family.

It was about nine years ago that my son Blake and I traveled to Memphis to attend a Lisa Marie Presley concert (on the very first stage Elvis performed), a dinner with Lisa and Priscilla Presley, and a midnight tour of Graceland . That day/night was one of the deepest moments of my life.

Blake and I were having dinner at the old car museum across from Graceland when a couple of fans asked Lisa and Priscilla questions.

I noticed my son having a few adult drinks in a row. It wasn’t normal for him at all. In the back of my mind I was thinking, is he building up liquid courage to grab that mic? Because I was too petrified to do it myself.

Argo, a DJ from Elvis Radio, asked “one last question” and Blake took over the mic.

What happened next touched my heart to the core.

After this video was recorded, Blake and I visited Lisa Marie for a moment, took photos, and then walked across the street for a midnight tour of Graceland given by the curator of the property.

Apart from the birth of my children and my daughter Brittni being diagnosed with remission, this was one of the greatest moments of my life.

A few years later, in 2018, I took a solo trip to Memphis for Elvis Presley’s HBO debut: The Searcher. The film was shown in two parts at the Guest House at Graceland theater. Priscilla was present.
