“The sky’s the limit for him” – Kyle Walker lavishes praise on ‘unbelievable’ Chelsea star

Manchester City star Kyle Walker has opened up about fellow Chelsea player Reece James having another good season.

After a slow start, the 22-year-old slowly got back on his feet and most recently scored in his side’s 3-0 Champions League win over AC Milan.

Walker, his England team-mate, praised James, calling him “incredible”. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, he said (via A Stamford Bridge Too Far):

“Can’t believe it. He’s incredible. Just his personality and how he behaves in the place. The sky’s the limit for him. I think we can see what he’s achieved so far in his career and he’s still young. “

Last season, James has claimed five goals and nine assists from 26 Premier League appearances to be one of the best right-backs in Europe’s top leagues.

He has become a key figure at Chelsea, bringing a new dimension to attack with his creativity and offensive flair.

Reece James’ knee injury is worse than initially expected and he could miss the World Cup for England, according to multiple sources

He and Walker are vying for a place at right-back in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad but both are currently doubtful for the 2022 FIFA World Cup through injury.

James hobbled away with a wobble in the second half of Chelsea’s 2-0 win over AC Milan earlier this week and will see a specialist this weekend.

Walker suffered a groin injury during the Manchester derby earlier this month and underwent successful surgery but could be sidelined.

Chelsea are coming into their own under Graham Potter

After a slow start to the 2022-23 season, Chelsea are beginning to hold their own lately, winning their last four games in all competitions while conceding just once.

During that run, the Blues also defeated reigning Serie A champions AC Milan in the Champions League group stage, home and away, by a 5–0 aggregate score.

Summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored in both games as he shows signs of settling in London.

More notably, the Blues’ defense has also improved, keeping a clean sheet in their last three games while Graham Potter’s side are finding form. They play Aston Villa at Villa Park in the league on Sunday.
