A spokesperson for Skeeby Community Pub Society said: “We are pleased to announce that the closure of our pub has been a very short period of time.”
“The Travelers Rest will reopen for business today (September 2) under a new lease.
“Existing SCPS members Chris, Ali and their wives Cerian and Jen will continue to provide home-cooked meals, a wide selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.
“Karen and her team have been an asset to the pub since it opened and we are delighted that they will continue to run the pub with the existing team.”
“They will work closely with the new tenants to deliver an exciting future for The Travelers Rest.”
This comes just days after the pub was immediately closed.
It is hoped the new tenant and existing team can work together to overcome the challenges facing the pub.
Luckily, the reopening happened much sooner than the expected weeks of finding a new tenant.
Skeeby residents and visitors to The Travelers Rest will still find the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that makes the place so special.
